Singapore-based Modern Energy Management (MEM) will serve as owner’s representative and technical advisor for a 250-MW wind project in the Philippines on behalf of Highland Infrastructure.

Highland recently closed a non-recourse loan of USD 1 million (EUR 834,400) from Southeast Asia Clean Energy Facility (SEACEF), a Southeast Asia-focused fund which counts Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) among its backers.

Due to the size of the project, and to facilitate an effective power sales strategy, the wind farm will be built in phases. Construction of the 40-MW first phase is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2022, MEM said in a press release.

Highland Infrastructure aims to build 1 GW of investment grade projects across Southeast Asia over the next five years, the statement reads.
