The Philippines’ Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is nearing the completion of Marikina City National Cottage Industries Development Authority (NACIDA) Incubator Facility.

This project is designed to foster the growth of micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises.

The facility, which has received a total investment of 400m pesos ($6.97m) since 2022, currently stands at a 70% completion rate.

The DPWH Metro Manila 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) is spearheading the construction of the NACIDA Incubator Facility in Barangay Concepcion Dos.

Upon completion, the five-storey building will have a total floor area of 6,500m².

It will feature a variety of spaces, including a government one-stop-shop area, showrooms, restaurants, conference rooms, and a laboratory room.

The project will feature a green building design, with fully air-conditioned rooms, an elevator, well-ventilated areas, and a fire protection system.

The DPWH has also completed a slope protection structure in Barangay Kita-Kita, Balungao, Pangasinan.

This structure, which extends 826m along the Cabalancian River, aims to protect the community from flooding and contribute to long-term economic stability and social well-being.

The slope protection project, funded under the country’s General Appropriations Act of 2024, was divided into three phases.

The first phase, covering 250m, cost 48.40m pesos; the second phase, 212m, cost 38.77m pesos; and the third phase, 364m, cost 95.41m pesos.

The project, managed by the Pangasinan 3rd DEO, was completed seven months ahead of schedule.

Earlier this month, the DPWH also announced the completion of a domestic flood mitigation project and a farm-to-market road in the municipalities of Boac and Gasan, Marinduque.
