Aboitiz Construction, UnionBank join forces to upskill team members

Aboitiz Construction Inc. (ACI) and Union Bank of the Philippines (UBP or UnionBank) joined forces to provide training courses to 1,000 Aboitiz team members through the UBP Xcellerator Program.
The two companies conducted a virtual signing of memorandum of agreement (MoA) on June 24 to formalize the partnership for the learning and development program.
The UBP Xcellerator Program aims to revolutionize the virtual learning environment as a one-stop learning resource that offers various programs aligned to digital capability building and emerging technologies such as blockchain, data science, artificial intelligence and application programming interface.
UnionBank, with its mission to provide technology-focused training courses to produce better-trained and more competent Filipinos, will provide courses on design thinking, project management and storytelling to ACI team members.
Key signatories in the virtual MoA signing were Nina Pedro, division chief for Enterprise Risk, Organization Performance, Corporate Affairs and Services of Aboitiz Construction and Michelle Rubio, chief human resources officer of UnionBank.
This partnership on people development is a milestone and one-of-a-kind in the Aboitiz Group as both companies continue to fulfil their commitments to drive change for a better world, and to build a better future by empowering Filipinos to gain lifelong skills that they can use in advancing their careers.
ACI kicked off 2021 with its Big Shift strategy, a comprehensive business pivot that will enable the company to achieve business recovery and bring new value.
The Xcellerator program is also anchored on the digital transformation efforts of ACI to deliver quality learning and development programs for its team members.
