MANILA – The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has partnered with the city government of Manila to fast-track the construction of the Solis and Blumentritt Stations of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) project.
During clearing operations at the Old Antipolo Road on Tuesday, DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon said the partnership is in response to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s order to accelerate the construction of mass transport projects for the benefit of commuters.
Dizon thanked Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno for the partnership to ensure that the construction of the project begins after a two-year delay.
“Doon mo makikita talaga na kapag nagtulungan ang national at local government, umaandar ang mga proyekto. Kampante tayo ngayon na finally aandar, bibilis na ‘yung proyekto (That’s where you’ll see when the national and local governments work together, the project moves. We are confident that this project will finally begin and will move quickly),” he said.
During the event, Moreno assured that the Manila City government supports the mass transportation projects of the Marcos administration.
“On behalf of the people of Manila, we are grateful to the President that the project is being implemented, and we are happy with Dizon because he moves fast. And so all projects that benefit the public, the city government will support it 101 percent,” he said.
