Solarvest wins project in Philippines

PETALING JAYA: Solarvest Holdings Bhd has marked its maiden expansion beyond the Malaysian market after securing two contracts for solar rooftop projects in the Philippines.

The solar photovoltaic (PV) system specialist obtained the two engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) projects from Vivant Energy Corp, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vivant Corp.

The projects would be completed within the year and are expected to contribute positively to Solarvest’s financial performance for the year ending March 31,2021.

Group chief executive officer Davis Chong said this was Solarvest’s first expansion beyond Malaysia and the company was thrilled to have received the opportunity and confidence from an established industry player such as Vivant Corp.

“We aim to make further inroads into the Philippines and we’re actively in talks with local partners to bid for more projects there.”

Solarvest closed at 88 sen yesterday after it rose 10 sen or 12.82%. A total of 25.48 million units exchanged hands yesterday.
