PHILIPPINES – ONLINE RECRUITMENT UP 10%: MONSTER EMPLOYMENT INDEX

Online recruitment in the Philippines grew by 10% in August 2019 when compared to the same period last year, according to the latest Monster Employment Index for the Philippines.

The index is a monthly gauge of online job hiring activity by Monster.com, which records the industries and occupations that show the highest and lowest growth.

The education sector led growth in online hiring activity for the first time in 2019 on annual basis with a 25% increase in August 2019 when compared to the previous year.

Overall, online recruitment activity exceeded the year-ago level in 11 of the 12 sectors monitored by the Index.

The engineering, construction and real estate sector (-1%) is the only sector to record a decline on annual basis.

Among the occupations, annual online demand for professionals was positive in seven of the ten job roles monitored by the Index. Online demand for HR & Admin (up 29%) professionals led year-on-year growth among the monitored job-roles.

Meanwhile, healthcare was down 2% and engineering/production and real estate was also down 2%.
